                                                Las Vegas

Headed out to Vegas for business for a few days. I knew it was warm here in the summer and I guess I was hoping that it wasn't going to be THAT warm.

Boy, was I wrong.

Driving through the Mojave Desert was intense. It reached 113 degrees and we had 1/4 tank of gas, with no gas station in sight. Then the car (pulling a 33 ft. trailer, mind you) decided it was hot too.

I got scared. Scared enough to start praying - HARD!

We made it to a gas station, but barely. Thank you, Jesus!

Pulling into Vegas, it was 106 - 107....that's really hot and I am NOT a girl that likes heat. Knowing that we are staying in a trailer, with a dog, I hoped that at least if I never left the trailer and it stayed cool, I'd live. Currently, as I write - it's 8:30pm and 102 degrees! Good Lord!

The trailer cools down pretty good though and thankfully I took a fan to add to blowing the cool air around.

I've got everything I need with me, so I took some pictures of our first day.

Here's to "an evening in, literally" and a not so bad tomorrow.

Visit To Disney Studios ~

The first day of June, 2012 and a dear friend who works for Disney in Burbank, took us on a little tour of the Studios. It's a quiet time there this time of year. All the studios were closed up and there were not very many people around.

I only took a few pics but my most favorite moment was the story we were told as we entered a courtyard and saw the very last picture you'll see here.

Walt Disney's very first animated cartoon was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He'd put every dime he had into that film and he was thrilled that it did so well, it actually made him quite wealthy. So, the story about the last picture you'll see here is: The Seven Dwarfs are "holding up" Disney Studios in reference to how they did so well after Snow White came out.

I thought that was a great story and to see the Seven Dwarfs actually holding up the roof was adorable.
