Rancho Oso ~

Once a month, my husband and our two terriers like to take the trailer out for a few days and go somewhere in the world that is "a get-away".

Well, I found Paradise!  Yes...it's a place nestled deep inside the mountains above Santa Barbara, CA. I think it's Santa Inez mountains...but don't hold me to that.

We first wanted to be close or in Santa Barbara, so my husband found a trailer park, basically in the city so we could visit the city and well, Santa Barbara is just beautiful in and of itself.  But...I was not really happy with the place, so we looked into what might be near or around there.

About 30 minutes out of the city, there was a possible campground - a place called: Rancho Oso. At first, I thought it was too far to drive - after all...we'd come from Pasadena and already spent an entire day in the first trailer park, but hubby suggested we go at least look at this place.

Up into the windy mountains we drove - seemed like forever. At one point, I was sure he was going to turn around and go back because it was taking us on what seemed like a never ending road.

Finally....we saw a sign: "Welcome to Rancho Oso!"

But...more windy roads that got thinner - fortunately they were still paved or we would have never even gone that far.

Just around the bend.....and there it was.

The first thing I was from way above the windy road....a huge pasture of horses.

"Oh my God..."

The second thing I saw was a huge pasture of trailers (at the time I thought that's where the campers were, but I came to find out those trailers were being stored there).

"This is it! I don't care what it costs...I'm staying here, I just know it!"

We drove down into what was the most beautiful farm and RV park I'd ever seen in my whole days and fortunately, they had space available!

I'll bombard you with photos here:

I want to live there - I want to work there - I want to be there forever!

I know...not really possible, but I know it's there and I will go back soon.

It was such a peaceful place, the only sounds you could hear were the birds in the sky. That kind of peace is what I love.

Ah, but wait....there's more!

See what I mean??

Ah....love <3

See ya soon, maybe again at Rancho Oso ~

Oh, how I Oso love you!
