I'm here - I'm actually IN the Dr.'s office to have this thing taken off.
Here comes that nasty saw ~
My foot is soooo dry. It had not been near water for 6 weeks!
I got the "OK" from the Dr. to get a walking boot. I have to wear it for 2 more weeks and in those 2 weeks, I have to go to Physical Therapy with my boot on at first and then with it off for a couple more weeks. I can only apply 10% weight on my foot while in the boot, now - but every day a bit more and more. The heel bone is still healing and is not ready for full on weight yet.
It's about 3 inches high, so I'll need some kind of wedge shoe to wear on my left foot so I'll be even.
I'm just sooo happy I can take it off at night, I can take a shower without my foot hanging out the door of the shower. I can take it off anytime I want, but to walk, I'll need to put it on. I still have to use the crutches, but I'm hoping every day will get easier. I'm working on just using 1 crutch :-)
My calf muscle has totally atrophied!
But....I'm out of the cast - that's the best part!!
